Gaither Report 1

On January 6, 2007 East Georgia Paranormal (E.G.P.) commenced with an investigation of paranormal activity at the Gaither Plantation, In Newton county Georgia. The Focus of the investigation was aimed at a few specific structures on the property. These areas being the main house, the restored cabin (homestead), the old church, and the Family cemetery. There was another cabin on the property but was deemed unsafe by Jack to enter due to construction there was also a small store on the property also not investigated.

Paranormal activity reported to EGP included; reports of different smells, disembodied voices and sounds, objects moving on their own, doors opening and closing, shadows, and a full bodied apparition of a man.

In the main house a couple of EVPs were captured. Light anomolies were captured on video in two of the bedrooms in the house. Investigators also had several personal experiences. Several investigators experienced smells throughout the house such as; pipe tobacco, cinnamon, and a Pine-sol like scent. A EMF spike was recorded by a team in the living room. The EMF spike was free floating (in the middle of the room) and completely disappeared after about 2 minutes, an EVP was captured during this episode. Two investigators reported seing shadows in the house. One of which was in the living room window seemingly looking out at members in the yard. After settling down at appoximately 4 a.m. the entire investigation team heard what seemed to be an arguement going on between a man and a woman upstairs. The team went upstairs to investigate and found no one there but could hear the arguement going on in the attic. Two team members investigated the attic and found nothing. When the team members returned from the attic the entire team could hear the arguement going on downstairs. Upon returning downstairs the arguement was no longer heard.

In the restored cabin the first investigation team found one of the exterior doors open. It was verified by other team members that the door was shut and secured before the investigation began.

The church was found to be extremely active as well. Upon arriving at the church each member had relatively the same level of discomfort. One member described it as like "Being browbeat by my father " After entering the church several disembodied sounds were heard. 2 different teams had the same uncomfortable feelings and experiences. It was decided that all investigators would investigate the church. Since the church is in a remote location with no power IR cameras could not be used so the team had to rely on camcorders that had nightvision capabilities. Five to ten minutes after entering the church both camcorders experienced battery drain and failed. While taking readings with an IR non contact thermometer the team members witnessed the laser beam on the thermometer being broken three times, twice on demand.
