East Georgia Paranormal conducted a two-day investigation of the Belmont Inn in Abbeville South Carolina . The Belmont Inn was constructed between 1902-1903 and to the best of the current owner's knowledge there have been four previous owners. The Belmont contains 35 sleeping rooms and 47 rooms total within the structure. It was renovated once in the 1980s and then again in the 1990s.

It was reported to EGP interviewers by the owner that voices had been reported in rooms 10, 12, and 25. There was also at least one report of a guest seeing the apparition of a man in room 12. Room 12 also had reported cold spots. The owner had also presented EGP with copies of "spirit witings" done by someone unknown to the team. Room 10 had reports that a decorative bust would rotate.

EGP used the following tools on this investigation: 4 infrared cameras, 2 VCR's, 1 DVD recorder,3 EMF meters, 1 Infrared non-contact thermometer, 2 Sony Nightshot camcorders, 1 low lux camcorder, 2 fixed lens digital cameras, 2 digital SLR cameras, 4 digital recorders, One laptop used as a DVR.

The attending sensitives were Heidi and Michelle. Many of their findings including names were verified by longtime hotel staff and the owner. Heidi and Michelle both had "hits" throughout the hotel and surrounding grounds including the town square. Combined, the two sensitives had about a 75% accuracy rating..

Two investigators stayed in room 12 for two nights. Neither investigator experienced the reported phenomenon on either night. Two investigators were also stationed in room 10. The bust position was maked and on the second day of the investigation, it was noted that it had rotated about 10 degrees. One investigator also had a personal experience where he was touched on the back while in the bottom of the hotel's elevator shaft. On the second evening a couple staying at the hotel reported hearing voices outside a room and asked EGP investigators to check it out. Upon investigation the investigators recorded what can best be described as a shadow with a nightshot camera. Another EGP ivestigator got a picture of an orb in a dining room of the hotel. EGP can find no explanation for these peices of evidence.

Due to excess background noise coming from outside the hotel and in the hotel bar. No EVPs were considered. The hotel also had an unusally high EMF redaing throughout the structure so EMF readings were also discredited.

Due to personal experiences of EGP investigators and evidence gathered EGP is wiiling to confirm the existence of paranormal activity in the Belmont Hotel.
